The Magic Powers of Ricotta

Today, I made Italian Ricotta Cookies. I let Lyla take the reins and she was befuddled to learn that “cheese” was the secret ingredient. She chose pink for the icing. They were soft, delicious, and pretty dang easy to make.

The Story

Walden and Civil Disobedience

On January 1, 2020, I finished reading my first book of the year. And it was a doozy. It opened my eyes to a brand new way of thinking. And also opened a new spot in my heart. In fact, upon reading the final paragraph, I found myself bursting into tears. Thank you, Mr. Thoreau. The light which puts out our eyes is darkness to us.  Only that day dawns to which we are awake.  There is more day to dawn.  The sun is but a morning star.
