A few months ago I stumbled across the genius that is Brandi Carlile. Upon first listen, I instantly felt a strong connection with her music. Her lyrics are deep and raw, along with her voice. This one has been on repeat lately.

On January 1, 2020, I finished reading my first book of the year. And it was a doozy. It opened my eyes to a brand new way of thinking. And also opened a new spot in my heart. In fact, upon reading the final paragraph, I found myself bursting into tears. Thank you, Mr. Thoreau. The light which puts out our eyes is darkness to us. Only that day dawns to which we are awake. There is more day to dawn. The sun is but a morning star.
